I’m experiencing roughly the same problem. I’ve upgraded the Stripe plugin, switched to Stripe Elements, set Debug Mode on but any event payment form submission for an event is declined.
I’ve split your reply into its own topic because this is a different issue.
In this case, what’s happening is your Stripe payment gateway is using live API keys, and in order to use debug mode you’ll need to connect to Stripe’s testing mode.
The simple way to connect to Stripe & use testing credentials is go to Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Stripe settings page, verify that Debug mode is set to Yes. Then click the connect button and follow the prompts. Now you can use debug mode and the test credit card numbers. Then, after you’re finished testing and ready to go live, you’ll go to the Stripe settings page again, and click Disconnect. Then you’ll set Debug Mode On? to No, click Save, then click the Connect button and follow the prompts. At that point you’re ready to take live payments again.
Wonderful, thanks Josh – the sandbox is up and running and I’m able to test.
Cheers 🙂
