Im having a similar issue where my payments are received but they get a 21 pending notice for shipment of goods. I have to go into paypal and confirm the ite3m has been shipped. Thats changes it from 21 days pending to 7 days pending.

I talked to paypal and they informed my its based on the type of button that Im using. I have to change the button type to service instead of goods.

However expresso auto generates that button.

How do I change the button Type??

Hi there,

We haven’t seen the button type Event Espresso uses to cause this issue anywhere else. Can you check to see if your PayPal account has the Instant Payment Notification option enabled?

Thanks Josh, where do I find that?

Hi,

If you are using the old version of PayPal’s website you can find it here: Profile > My selling tools > Instant Payment Notification.

If you are using the new PayPal website: Tools box on the left hand side > Discover your account > Instant Payment Notification (IPN) history (under the Transactions list) > turn on IPN link

There might be an easier/different way to find it in the new PayPal site but I couldn’t see one.

You could also try goign to https://www.paypal.com/fi/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-ipn-notify-edit (make sure you’re logged in).

Hi there,

In Event Espresso 3’s Payments > PayPal settings, there is an option to override Profile-based shipping. You can try checking that box and saving the settings. Along with that, is this a Verified PayPal account? If not, you can verify the PayPal account.

Ok Josh I checked that setting and my paypal account is verified.

Just came across a area in paypal called “Funds availability details”

As a new account the following must be completed;

1. complete 5 transactions with out buyer disputes, claims, or returns.
2. Receive at least $150.00 in payments for goods and services.
3. Wait 60 days from the date you receive your first payment.

After you’ve completed any one of these steps, your money will be available sooner.

I have never had this happen with creating new paypal accounts. Must be a new thing with Paypal. I have another site running event expresso and did not have to go through this process.

I also notice on the last few transactions it no longer gives me the option to confirm shipping. So I think Im almost completed the new paypal account Funds Availability process.

I will keep you posted on this issue.

Hi Saskbjj,

That is something I have not see either although PayPal often seem to make up new rules as they go along.

Please do let us let if this is indeed cuasing the issue mentioned above.
