I am having the same issue and saw your solution from November 4, 2019 at 8:11 am. If I have an event with multiple Event Datetimes, so I have to make an update to each Datetime or just the entire event? Is there a way of checking that the new Template ID has been applied to the event>
I’ve split out your post as its easier for everyone to follow if keep each issue in a separate thread.

The problem comes from an issue with an event.
As datetimes are all assigned within an event you just need to update the event itself, I’m not sure how you would update individual datetimes?
With the Automated Upcoming Event Notification Add-on (AUEN for short) add-on activated just open the event in the editor, you don’t need to make any changes and just hit update.

If you have updated the event since activating the add-on, it has been applied, if you haven’t it won’t have been.
Other than checking within the database itself there is no way for you to tell if the event has had the template ID assigned to it other than assigning a custom template for that message type and then switching it back to global, but that’s basically just the same as editing and updating so there’s no need.
