We had a problem fixed yesterday with the “gateway folder authnet” through a Priority token. Today a few of our clients were getting the “Sorry there was a security error and your registration was not saved” error message when completing the registration and before being transferred to authorize.net for payment. We recently upgraded both WordPress and Event Espresso to the latest releases. I read a few other support topics related to this and have removed WP Super Cache, cleaned out the wp-config file and renamed the templates folder. I have not been able to replicate the problem. Have I done everything I can? What gives?
Renaming the templates folder likely fixed it if there were older versions in there of the registration form templates they likely didn’t have the nonce hidden inputs that were added for security a few versions back.
You can continue to use WP Super Cache as long as the event-registration, thank-you, and transaction pages are added to the list of rejected URIs on the advanced settings page for the WP Super Cache plugin.
Thanks Josh. The templates folder was empty but I went ahead and renamed it anyway. Would that still have been part of the problem?
Once I hear back from you – and when our registration rush ends – I’ll definitely reinstall WP Super Cache with the advanced settings as it was a positive adjustment on load time for our site.
if it was empty then no, it would not have been the cause of the problem.
