WordPress Version: 3.5.2
Event Espresso Version: 3.1.33.3.P
Add Ons:Recurring Events / Events Calendar

We’ve been running event registrations on the Christchurch site infrequently, we recently upgraded from 3.1.15 to 3.1.33.3.P since the upgrade we receive the error message when populating an event registration: Sorry, there was a security error and your registration was not saved. an example can be found at the URL.

Example Events Registration Page that is failing
http://www.christchurchnewport.org/event-registration/?ee=1623

As per other posts in the forum I’ve renamed the templates folder in the template settings section. I’ve also told EE not to use legacy templates but to use the smoothness theme.

Please could you provide some help on this matter, or some suggestions of things to try.

Kindest Regards

Richard

I’m not seeing the hidden nonce field in the reg form on that page, which means that it is probably still using the old template files. Can you take a look at the files using ftp and confirm that there isn’t anything in uploads/espresso/templates?

Morning Sidney

I’ve checked the FTP upload folder you’ve referred to this morning and it contains a folder named tenplates_OLD only.

Could something have caused this during the upgrade process?

Hi,

Do you have any Cache plugins installed? If so it may be worthwhile to test deactivating the cache plugin and clearing your cache and try registration again.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your response, I’m not currently using any form of caching on this site so there was nothing to switch off. I’ve attempted to generate a completely new event, as well as running this event in an incognito window to prevent any prior information being loaded. This time with no payment set.

The error still occurs.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level and FTP details will be needed.

Hi Dean

Having spent some time looking at this, I found that some custom page templates had been created using the WordPress page-‘slug’.php method. The code must have been brought over from original Espresso Templates and they were not using the official/modified versions that were originally packaged with event espresso.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with this issue.

Regards

Richard
