Some issues

I have a few issues that may or may not be related.

1)

This one happened only once: A customer reserved a seat. Her attendee details were added correctly to the database. However, her reservation wasn’t added to the wp_events_seating_chart_event_seat table.

In wp_events_attendee, the price_option correctly contains M-26 | Booking ID:3723, but all price fields state 0.00.

2)
Most reservations work fine, but sometimes no admin mail or confirmation mail is sent, while the reservation is added correctly to the database.

3)
Sometimes a customer reserves a seat, gets a confirmation mail, but the seat is released later as if the reservation hadn’t been confirmed.

4)
Sometimes a temporary reserved seat will not be released after the time expires.

Do you have any clues what might cause these problems? I don’t even know where to begin to look.

WordPress 3.8.3
EventEspresso 3.1.36.4.P
EventEspresso permissions 1.5.5.p
Seating Chart 1.2.1-alpha
EE API plugin 2.1.1.P

Hi there Joel,

I see that you are running an older version of the software. Could you please backup and update to the current version of Event Espresso 3?

Hi Lorenzo,

the change log doesn’t indicate any changes that could relate to the problem. As I had to make some changes in the plugin files to fix some bugs and make everything work as necessary, I have to update manually, so I’d rather not do that now (I didn’t mess with any parts related to the above mentioned functionality either).

There seems to be the problem that an entry to the database is already made when the confirmation page is displayed. If the client does not proceed to payment page, the database entry stays but no e-mails are send the the client or the admin. Is that normal behavior?

Hello,

All registrations are recorded even if a payment is not made. This allows you to reach out to potential attendees/registrants.

You can adjust the default payment status to ensure that only registrations with payments are counted against the attendee limit.

This option is available in the General Settings screen for Event Espresso. Once on this page, scroll down to Optional Event Settings.

Hi Lorenzo,

thank you for your answer. But using the seating chart plugin, the selected seat will be blocked permanently, and that is obviously very bad for business. Is there a way to circumvent this?

One more question: How are the records for not completed reservations different from completed ones?

Hello,

The incomplete registrations will also appear in the attendee list page for an event. The difference is that these won’t have payment information associated with them.

Also keep in mind that the default payment status affects if incomplete registrations are counted against the attendee limit.
