Sold Out, But Not Sold Out

We have an issue on select dates for certain events which are showing as sold out when they are not sold out. Some have successfully sold out with 23 of 23 tickets being sold for the same event so it doesn’t seem to be an event wide problem.

For example in the admin panel we have a limit of 23 tickets for an event, it’s showing as 22 sold – but on the front end it’s showing as sold out.

This is also not isolated to one event, there are several events which have the same issue. I’ve checked the cut off dates for selling and they should still be available. I can see suggestions that this may be down to old archived tickets or prices (neither we have done).

I’ve uploaded an image here of a screenshot of the event :

Hi there,

I’m afraid the screenshot you posted isn’t of high enough quality to read what’s there and does not show how the tickets are related to datetimes. What I can suggest is you review the tickets and make sure they’re associated to the correct datetimes. Also if there are multiple tickets assigned to one datetime, then the datetime’s registration limit will kick in before the ticket quantity is reached. If you have the capacity to sell more tickets then the solution may be to bump up the datetime registration limit.

We have an event set up for the 7th of August, with tickets showing as sold out (when 21 out of 23 are sold). The time date these tickets should be able to be sold to (which is what I presume you mean by datetime registration), is 2017-08-04 10:55pm, so the last two tickets should still be available.

This is the same case on all the dates which are sold out, they all should still be available looking at that setting

This may be related to not having the most up to date software. Can you update to the current version of Event Espresso 4? It looks like your site is about 14 versions behind.

Specifically in Event Espresso 4.9.35.p there were some refinements to the ticket reservation system. What’s more than likely happening on your site is some of the abandoned reservations are not getting cleared. Here’s how to fix:
1) Update your site to have the current version of Event Espresso 4. This will give you the tool you use to fix and prevent this from happening again.
2) You go to Event Espresso > Maintenance > Reset and click on the “Reset Ticket and Datetime Reserved Counts” button.
