You can run an optimization script for the database, and even repair the tables if they are damaged. Here’s a link to a guide from Dreamhost hosting that can be followed for any host that gives you access to your database:
I ran the optimizations from the dreamhost link. Thank you. But that doesn’t seems to have made much of a difference. The Calendar seems to update very slowly.
I checked the calendar page on your website and the slow loading calendar doesn’t appear to be because of the database. One factor for the slow speeds is the number of image files being loaded. Every event there has a feature image, and some of those events have images inside their tooltip. Image files are loaded on separate http requests. That all adds up. You could also try optimizing those images a bit by using a tool like smush.it.
A few other things you could try would be to set the calendar to not display expired events. That way later in the month, the initial page view will load fewer pictures. You can also try caching that page by using a plugin like WP Super Cache.
