Hi Nelly,

Can you explain exactly what is happening please?

Maybe include a screenshot so we can see what you are referring to.

Do you see any error messages?

Hi Nelly, you installed a mix of Event Espresso 3 and Event Espresso 4. Deactivate and remove all Event Espresso software via WordPress plugins.

Then download Event Espresso 3 from this list:

Hi,

Do you have an SFTP or an FTP login and are you familiar with a tool like Cyberduck or FileZilla?

Because both EE3 and EE4 have been activated you’ll need to disable one of them using FTP or via something similar to cPanel’s ‘File Manager’.

Do you have access to either FTP or some form of control panel through your host?

In your list of the whole features of the business license include the EE4 add ons!! and they are available on the downloads!! thats why i upload them!!! it doesn’t make sense!

I’m sorry for the confusion.

There are 2 versions of Event Espresso and 2 sets of Add-ons (1 set for each version)

Event Espresso 3 has its own set of Add-ons.

Event Espresso 4 has its own set of Add-ons.

EE3 Add-ons are not compatible with EE4 and vice versa. Within your account page they are separated and coloured differently – http://take.ms/Oohh4

From the error above it appears you have installed both Event Espresso 3 and Event Espresso 4 at the same time, which causes a fatal error.

One of those versions needs to be disabled by re-naming one of the plugin directories. GoDaddy has its own File Manager within its control panel that can do this (you will have received login details when you set up the account) or you can use FTP to it.

We can help you get this back up and running, but do you have either FTP details or access to GoDaddy’s control panel for your site?

Hi, the custom files add-on isn’t a plugin for WordPress and needs to be manually installed via SFTP or FTP.

Also, each add-on has a documentation icon which appears to the right of the download link. Clicking on that link will take you to the documentation for each add-on and the add-ons are not needed to use Event Espresso 3.

You can use Event Espresso 3 along with the add-ons that you want to use for your project.

For example, if you will be the only one setting up events on your site then the Roles and Permissions add-ons would not be needed.

I follow the instruction they didnt said anything about FTP!

yours instructions said other thing:

Custom Template Add-on

The Custom Template add-on provides you with an easy to use way to change the look and function of your event lists.

Download the latest version of the Custom Template add-on for Event Espresso 3 from your Event Espresso account.

Then login to your WordPress dashboard (WP-admin) and go to Plugins. Next, click on Add New –> Upload and browse to the plugin on your computer. Then select the zip file and begin the upload process. Wait for the plugin to upload and then click on Activate.

Hi Nelly,

Yes, I wrote those steps. Please take a look at the information below.

The Custom Files add-on needs to be manually installed:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-files-add-on/#installation

The Custom Templates add-on can be installed via WordPress:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-template-add-on/

They have a similar name but they are actually different files. Again, please take a look at the documentation for each add-on if you are unsure about one of them.

The point that I was trying to share earlier is that you do not need to install every add-on for Event Espresso 3 to use Event Espresso 3.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Thanks

Hi Nelly,

Where about does it say Custom Template Add-on v1.1.p but downloads Custom Files? Is it on your account page or elsewhere?

If you can clarify that I’ll be happy to examine it and fix it.

Hi Nelly,

The Custom Files Add-on is for use by developers to override functions within Event Espresso. It is not a plugin and needs to be installed using FTP. Is the Custom Files Add-on something you need?

The core functionality of Event Espresso is all within the main plugin, each of the Add-ons adds additional functionality. Installing Add-ons you do not need may be unexpected results as they may set up EE to work differently than you expect.

I will get the link fixed up so that it points to the correct page.

Ok! you guys had to keep things together… everyone of you said something different and none except Dean try to really see what was the problem..

Cause they way you show things in the site definetly is confusing… You had to remember that you had clients that are not developers, and that’s why they buy your stuff.

Yesterday i lost a whole day of work cause of your plugin.. clearly you had to fix how you had your things in the site..

When i buy the business package it shows features of both versions EE3 & EE4
Then in my account appear all those downloads, so since i see it in the package that i just BUY i assume i can use them…
Also in the Downloads part you specific that the EE3 downloads are not compatible with EE4 but you don’t specifc that the EE4 are not compatible with EE3..

And i can continue telling u a lot of thing that you should made better but i dont have the time cause i have to set up your plugin that i HOPE worth my money at the end…

THANKSSSS
