I am wanting to create a simple event registration page without users having to select a ticket type for a free event. I do want them to be added as WP users (I have this add-on) but I dont want them having to click on a button to go to a different page to add their details and checkout. Is this possible?

Hi there,
Not currently, no.
With Event Espresso the user needs to submit a ticket selection to then be directed to the Single PageCheckOut page (SPCO for short) which then handles all of the processing for the registration(s) which then allows other add-ons to hook in and perform any additional processing.
We don’t have an option for a form to automatically created a registration without going with SPCO at this time. It’s possible to do but would require custom development.
