The only way a user (site member) can be added to an event and still have the event logged to their user account is by registering. As such you would need to register them from the front end. I would suggest using the handy User Switching plugin, which allows you to easily swap to other users accounts.
Can I then display the members who are attending the event along with the regular attendees?
Members will need to be attendees of an event to be displayed using the attendee listing shortcode.
Can members login into the site using Facebook Connect?
Site login is not handled by EE, so it’s up to yourself as to how the users login.
