Show future active events in plain text list

As a follow-up to https://eventespresso.com/topic/show-next-events-in-plain-list/ …

I can get the plugin to list events using
[display-posts post_type="espresso_events"]

But how can I get it to list only future/active events?

Hi,

I don’t think you can, at least not without hacking the plugin because event dates are simply not covered by the plugin, they are too niche.

One option would be to use this function https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/e3c9540cd4ccc734e755 and convert it to a shortcode. Then you can use the show_expired to limit what’s displayed.
