Shopping Cart Not Loading

Hey there,

Just added the MER add-on and started trying to get some cart actions working but the links seem to just load and never go anywhere. The site has 6 events going and registration for the inidivual events is fine, but when trying any of the shopping cart shortcode ([ESPRESSO_CART_LINK]) nothing seems to be happening. Also tried to use the Cart Widget but for some reason it didn’t even appear. Would love some help. Thanks!

WP Version: 3.9.2
Event Espresso: Version 3.1.34.1.P
Event Espresso MER: Version 1.0.5.p
Event Espresso Ticketing: Version 2.1.p

Hi Zachary,

3.1.34.1 is rather old now (almost a year)

I would recommend first creating a full site back up (both the sites files and database) we have a guide on how to do this here:

Then update to the latest version of Event Espresso. You should be able to update using the 1 Click update feature, we have a guide post here to show you how to do this:

This may fix your issue, but if not it will at least give us a level playing field to start troubleshooting.

Hey Tony,

So I updated to the latest version. Links are appearing now, but when clicking add to cart it loads for a bit, shows a missing image icon, then redirects to a page with all the events listed. Whilst there, when pressing the add to cart link again, it simply refreshes.

Hi Zachary,

Could you check the four critical Event Espresso pages in WPadmin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings?

Here is what they look like on a default install:

Also ensure that each page has the correct shortcode as shown in the screenshot above.

Just checked, all settings are exactly as seen in the image of the default install.

Could you run a search for Espresso in WordPress pages and let us know how many results you see?

It seems like a page may be missing a shortcode or their may be duplicate shortcodes.
