How can I set up a Payment Method so that we can accept American Express?

Hi Sue, you could register for a merchant account with a payment processor like Authorizenet or PayPal Pro.

That will allow you to accept major credit cards on your site including American Express.

We are already using PayPal Pro. Do I need to add American Express thru them? Or should it already be available to my users when they pay after registering?

Hi Sue,

You’ll need to sign a billing agreement for American Express with PayPal Pro. This is in addition to having an account with PayPal Pro.

Then enable American Express as a card option in WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> PayPal Pro and save changes:
