I have events that are a two day class. First part of the class is taught on a Wednesday, the second part of the course is taught on the following Wednesday(Same time). How would you set up an event for this using the Recurring Event manager? Is the only way to do this by creating two separate events, Part 1 and Part 2 and link the registration from Part 1 to Part 2? Or is there a better way to do this?

Hi Barry,
Whichever way this is done each Part 2 event would need to have the Alt Registration Field manually entered to link into Part 1.
REM was designed to automatically create multiple copies of events, it will take the event you initially created and then create multiple duplicates of that event, altering the event start/end and registration start/end dates based on the date formula used.
Each ‘Part 2’ event would actually need to be unique (in that in links back to Part 1, each Part 1 event has an individual ID so linking Part 2 back to Part 1 is using a unique ID for that event.)
So you could either create a single ‘series’ of events (a series recurring each Wednesday) and then modify each ‘Part 2’ event to link to Part 1, or create 2 series of events (a series for Part 1 and another for Part 2) then manually edit each event in Part 2 to link to Part 1.
