Set a maximum transaction cost irrespective of number of tickets bought!

We use EE4 for events and buying annual memberships for our Pony Club.

This year Head office has changed the membership set up so Riding members are charged £76 for the first two family members and a maximum family cost of £190 so the third member would pay £38 and susequent members would be zero charged!

That logic I understand and have for the past two years been succesfully able to implement. However this year they have introduced the concept of a Non Riding Member at £31. The maximum cost remains for all variants at £190.

Can this be set up without custom coding?

Hi there,

That logic I understand and have for the past two years been succesfully able to implement.

May I ask, how have you set the above up in Event Espresso, I’m not sure its something EE could support without customization, or are you using multiple ticket types within the event to do it?

Can you link me to an example event so I can see what you have now?

I should have been clearer, can a maximum price of £190 be set for any number of products in the basket, even if individually they would exceed that price?

No, each registration will continue to add to the transaction total.

The only way I can think of doing that is to have a ‘membership’ ticket at full price and set as required and then all other tickets set as free. But thats not going to work for members that don’t normally purchase the full £190

Wow, lateral thinking, whilst not perfect it may suit. Thanks Tony!

You’re most welcome 🙂

Another option is to take the membership out of the equation completely and handle that using a membership plugin (for example, S2 Member) and then have that set the purchaser up as a ‘member’ and set the tickets as member only, however that’s getting a fair bit more complicated so depends how far you want to go with it.
