I have few questions regarding the EE4;

1. Server Requirements to install and using the EE4? I have an event of expecting about 5,000 participants.
2. Group registrations – All Participants must enter details in group registration.
3. Print Attendant List Alphabetically.
4. What is the scanning speed on Android & iPhone?
5. How to scan from the desktop? Is it using USB bar code scanner?
6. Can you suggest how should I handle an event with 5,000 participants? (appreciate your help)

Thanks

Hi there,

1. Server Requirements to install and using the EE4? I have an event of expecting about 5,000 participants.

You can find our basic requirements here:

https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

We have multiple users running Event Espresso on shared hosting without a problem, however the more resources that are available to your site, the better it will run. If you have the budge I would recommend using a VPS.

2. Group registrations – All Participants must enter details in group registration.

That’s possible by selection question groups for ‘Additional Registrants’ within the event.

3. Print Attendant List Alphabetically.

You can download a CSV of event registrations and sort them however you prefer using something like MS Excel. Would that work?

4. What is the scanning speed on Android & iPhone?

The scanning speed itself is very quick however it depends on your internet connection and server speed. Each scan connects to your site and confirms the scan so you must be able to connect to your site when scanning. If using mobile data it will depend on your provide and coverage.

5. How to scan from the desktop? Is it using USB bar code scanner?

Yes, we have some documentation here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/barcode-scanner-add-on/

6. Can you suggest how should I handle an event with 5,000 participants? (appreciate your help)

Within Event Espresso you mean? It really depends on your pricing setup, how are the tickets set up?

Is it a single event? What type of event is it?

If you can provide more details we should be able to point you in the right direction.

    – It really depends on your pricing setup, how are the tickets set up?
Tickets are divided into few groups. First group, the fee is RM20 per person. While the other groups is FREE.
    – Is it a single event? Yes, it is a single event.
    – What type of event is it? It is a new entrepreneurs all over Malaysia who will be participating in this event.

If you can provide more details we should be able to point you in the right direction.

At the very least you would set up two types of tickets, one for the paid group, and the other for the free group. Are the registrants from the free group going to be registered users of the website? If so, you can restrict the free ticket to logged in registered users only by using the WP User Integration add-on. Here’s a link to its documentation:
