Hi,

I allow my clients to send in a deposit for our events by check, and when I get the payment I enter it into EE and hit the “do you want to send a payment received notice to registrant” button to alert them I received the payment.  However, if the payment received is different than the total amount due, the email to the registrant says they have paid in full rather than just the amount I entered.  I am using WP 3.5.1 and EE version: 3.1.30.7P … any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Can you try updating. There were a few email issues that were fixed since the version you are currently running. Please let us know if the issue is still happening after the update.

Thank you for the response Jonathan, I’m waiting for my key license to be reset so then I can update.  For some reason it wasn’t allowing me to do automatic updating, and I’m always hesitant to do it manually. Any chance you can expedite that license key reset?!!

Hi Jeff,

I posted this in your other post, but I have reset your license key. Please remove the key from the field in your settings, save, then reenter the key and save again.

Hey Jonathan, I got the key issue all fixed yesterday and have updated to the newest EE version.  However, today when I tested the payment notification process again, it is still sending an email to my client saying they have paid the full amount rather than the partial amount that I’ve posted.  For example: today, the full price of my event is $349 and I received the deposit of $100 so I put in a payment of $100 and hit the “send notification” button and it sent an email saying they have paid $349.  Thanks for looking into this … I’m guessing I have a lot of clients who have gotten a notification saying they’ve paid in full, and I hope they don’t cause a problem when I tell them they haven’t!

Hi Jeff,

Event Espresso doesn’t officially support partial payments, so in this case you can send out a partial payment email -or- hold off on sending the payement received notice until the payment has been made in full.
