Hi,

What’s the best way to generate an email to an administrator when someone joins an event wait list?

Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Currently, you can’t.

The waitlist add-on would need an additional ‘admin’ context added to it in the same way as how say the Registration Approved message has it.

The next update to the wait list add-on includes the admin context and I can send a copy over to your to test if you’d like?

Note that message templates require a ‘reset’ for them to add any additional contexts not already installed which means after installing the latest version you would need to go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates.

Click the ‘Edit Registrant’ for the ‘Registration Added To Wait List Notification’ message type and then click on the ‘Reset Templates’ button in the sidebar. You will lost any customizations made to that template but the ‘Event Admin’ context will be added within EE.

Hi Tony,

Tx for the answer.
Yes, please send over a copy whenever you have a testable version.

Thanks,
Frank

Hi there,

I’ve pushed the update the wait list add-on which includes this live.

Version 1.0.3.p has the ‘Event Admin’ context included, but as mentioned you’ll need to reset your Waitlist template(s) for each individual one to show.

Update to the latest version (if it doesn’t show on your site yet go to Event Espresso -> General Settings and just hit save to force an update check) and then go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find ‘Registration Added To Wait List Notification’ and edit the Registrant template.

Click on ‘Reset Templates’ in the sidebar (note you will lose any current template modifications).

Go back to the message list table and you should have an ‘Edit Event Admin’ link for that message type. YOu can do the same for the other waitlist-related messages if needed.
