The nature of our event registration means we need to collect the email address of an emergency contact and send not only a registration confirmation email to the registrant, but also to the emergency contact to inform them they have been put down as an emergency contact. Can anyone out there help me figure out how to do this?
I would either want it to automatically send the email to them (we collect their first and last name, phone number, and email already) or add that emergency contact to a separate mailchimp list.
Right now, my way around the issue has been to ask the registrant to do a second registration for the emergency contact, which is a dummy event that collects the emergency contact’s information separately. THis is awkward and confusing, so we need a streamlined solution.

Event Espresso doesn’t have the capability to do this, so a feature like this one would need to be custom developed. You might need to hire a developer torefactor/extend Event Espresso’s email functions to send additional specified emails to the emergency contacts. The custom files addon has a file labeled custom_functions.php that can be used to override the pluggable functions in the core Event Espresso function. If they copy over the modified core functions to custom_functions.php, the changes will not get overwritten when the plugin gets updated.
