Send confirmation emails from user other than default administrator

Hi – I LOVE Event Espresso. I had issues with the email confirmations not sending at all so I installed the WP-Mail-SMPT plugin as suggested in other threads dealing with this problem. I suspect this is due to our server being an on-site Mac Mini with Apache (something my boss insisted on doing). Great! Both the administrator (me) and the registrant receives confirmation email (confirmation of user signup, as well as confirmation for that user).

However… now… is there an option to use a different user/email within WordPress to be the source of sending these confirmation e-mails? I am assigning the task of managing Event Espresso to someone and as the admin of the website, I don’t want my mailbox to get cluttered with Event Espresso confirmation emails.

This seems to be the only other issue for me!

I think I should clarify a couple of points – not so much as the administrator, but the email address within the WP-Mail-SMPT plugin. I have other forms I’d like to use on the website that will send from the main admin email in WordPress.

Hi Alice,

The plugin that you’re using to send the mail has an option to change the send from address. Is that what you’re asking about?

Yes. I think what I’m mostly worried about is that if I use forms elsewhere on the website (e.g., using Contact Form 7) – will the “FROM EMAIL” for other forms also come from the email address used in the WP-MAIL plugin? I’m using the WP-MAIL plugin to enable confirmation emails for EE. I’ll need some forms to go to certain e-mail addresses.

I’m not good at explaining myself in tech-speak! Arrrgh! I just wish I could use a different e-mail address that all the confirmation e-mails from Event Espresso will originate from other than WordPress administrator or WP-MAIL.

General Settings > Primary contact email: change it to the main email you want associated with Event Espresso. This will appear to customers as the email they received the registration details from and that they should reply to if necessary.

What about the primary contact name?
My from field looks like this: WordPress
I can’t work out how to change WordPress to the Admin’s name.

I should clarify it’s actually this format: WordPress name@domain.com.au
And using version 3.1.2.22 P

Hi Shane,

I cannot say for certain that your version of Event Espresso has this option as it is quite an old version (I would recommend looking to update the plugin).

In the General Settings is an option called “Use fancy email headers?” set it to yes and the email will come from the admins email rather than wordpress.
