I need the capability of selling some items (hats, gift certificates, etc.) on our website. I don’t mind using a plugin like woocommerce, but not sure of the potential conflicts with EE.
I’ve done some poking around in the support forums and it appears there is a way to integrate EE and Woocommerce, but the costs are probably beyond the benefit.
I’m not sure how the shopping cart(s) will function with both EE and Woocommerce.
Do you have any recommendations on which plugin to us to sell a few products through our site? Would it be better to have a separate ‘store’ site for these products to stay away from EE?
We are not aware of any conflicts between Event Espresso and WooCommerce. We do know there are sites that use both plugins, where they use Event Espresso for event registration and WooCommerce for selling products.
I’ve not personally used an e-commerce plugin beyond testing, so I’m not in a position to give recommendations. WooCommerce is the popular e-commerce option for WordPress, so there are a lot of add-ons available. You could also look into alternatives like iThemes exchange or some of the other offerings hosted on wordpress.org made available by other plugin authors.
Those appear to not use the MER add-on, so probably wouldn’t have any conflict. I use MER, so just not sure how things would work out with 2 shopping carts – 1 for EE and 1 for woocommerce.
I’ll figure it out, I thought I would just check with you guys first.
They’re two completely different carts so they do not conflict with each other.
