One of the listed features of Event Espresso says that I will be able to “own” my data. I wanted to get some clarification and make sure I fully understand this feature. Does this mean when I install Event Espresso on my server, I have the option to setup a database on that server as well? Or does that mean that Event Espresso sets up a database on my behalf, on Espresso servers?
That’s a great question. When you install Event Espresso, you’ll need to already have a database installed, since one of the requirements to install Event Espresso is a server running WordPress. In order to install WordPress, it requires a database (in most cases, a MySQL database). The Event Espresso software adds its own database tables to the existing MySQL database that WordPress uses.
