Selecting quantity of tickets for multiple tickets

Hello,

I am currently using Wp version 4:

  • EE3 version 3.1.36.5.P
  • multi event version 1.0.5p registration
  • recurring events version 1.1.8p
  • I have created an event that has a child and adult ticket and multiple time slots (every 30 mins)

On the front end, the user has the ability to select which ticket type and which time they require but not the quantity of each ticket.

E.g. the user cannot select how many adult and child tickets they require for a time slot.

Is this something I can do? I believe I’ve done this in the past with a previous version of EE3.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Ricky

Within the event editor check the Event Options in the sidebar. You’ll find ‘Allow Group Registrations’ and ‘Max Group Registrant’ – http://take.ms/DyzXa

Make sure it is set to Yes and a value higher than 1.

Also to note, with Event Espresso the Attendee limit is applied to the event itself, not the Time Slot. So if you even has an Attendee limit of 50, theoretically all 50 of those attendees could use a single time slot. If you need individual timeslot restrictions you would be best create individual instances of the events and setting the timeslot within each of those.

    Tony,

Thank you for the quick reply.

I’ve completed the steps given above.
The only thing is I can only select one ticket type and then a quantity.

Is it possible to select multiple ticket types e.g. adult and child and then select the quantity needed for each ticket?

    A little like the feature in EE4 – https://eventespresso.com/features/multiple-ticket-pricing-options/

    Thanks

Not in the same way, but similar.

The Multi Event Registration Add-on you have allows you to add events (or a Single event) to the cart, and select multiple ticket types and quantities.

So you need to add the event to the cart and then you can select multiple ticket quantities. You can hide the standard registration form and only use the Add to Cart button by following this guide:

    https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/

Does EE4 not suit your requirements currently?

    Tony,

    Thanks, I’ll give it ago.

I’ve had a play around with EE4. Unfortunately at this moment in time it doesn’t provide what I require. I tried to replicate the requirements stated above but was not having much success.

I came back to EE3 as I done this last year. Just trying to get my head around how to replicate it!

    Thanks

    Hi,

Here is an example of what the shopping cart feature will look like when the multiple events registration add-on is running:

    http://cl.ly/image/0b290r3T1M3k

In the example above, two events have been added to the cart. You would then select ticket quantities and register once. If each event had multiple tickets, then those would also be shown.

    Lorenzo,

    Thank you.

In the example above, is it possible to add the functionailty to add time slots?

    For example
A user can selects the event, they select the time slot within the event and the type and quantity of tickets?

    The site I’m working on:
    http://beta.granite5.com/scotsdalesevents/?page_id=25&ee=1
I can only select one ticket type (adult or child)

    Thanks

Not out of the box. However, you could get in touch with a developer to add that functionality.

    Lorenzo,

So as it stands a user will have to complete the process twice to purchase 2 different tickets?

    Thanks

    Hi,

If you use the MER add-on that Tony mentioned, then you’ll be able to purchase multiple tickets at once:

    https://eventespresso.com/topic/selecting-quantity-of-tickets-for-multiple-tickets/#post-118260

My screenshot was to show what it would look like. Essentially, the checkout flow will change to adding events to a shopping cart and then you’ll complete registration checkout afterwards.

However, adding extra options to the shopping cart page will take extra coding. Does that help?
