Hi guys, im back!

So i have installed the latest versions of EE and the WP-User plugin and found the reason it would still not work. The issue it seems is when i turn on BuddyPress/BBPress (i havent actually tested to see which one for definite). However that is not my main concern right now.

I have noticed while testing the new updates that if i register for an event with more than 1 attendee, the secondary attendees are created as administrators.

I should point out that i am using BuddyPress and the ‘members’ addon for it to control membership and roles. These are both deactivated though while i installed the EE update. I want to know mainly if the reason this is happening is bug with EE itself. I dont want to trouble shoot with all the other plugins if this is something that has been reported. However if its not an EE issue then i can start looking further into it.

I can provide a test event and temp access if there is someone from Tech Support who would like to investigate.

Hope someone can help!

Regards,

PhilB

Hi so i have done some more testing. I have just signed up for an event with 2 people with every plugin switched off except for Event Espresso.

Secondary attendees are being created as WordPress Administrators. Primary attendees are registered as normal members.

I have tried the same with BuddyPress enabled and had the same issue.I thought it was down to BuddyPress but now that i have registered for the same event using just Event Espresso i’m starting to think that it may be an issue with EE.

Thanks

PhilB

Hi Phil,

By default Event Espresso does not create users for additional registrations, only the Primary Registrant. I see in one of your previous threads you are likely using the example Josh provided.

That uses the role set within the event itself.

First check what the default setting is for the default tole EE will use within events. Go to Event Espresso -> Registrations Form -> User Integration Settings.

What is set for the ‘Default role for User Creation on Registration’?
(That’s the default used for the below setting on your events)

Then edit the event you ran the test registration on and check what is set for the ‘Default role for auto-created users’ (that’s specific for each event) – http://take.ms/2UaiE

What are both of those set to?

Well the issue seems to have been in the event itself. But the WP integration settings is set to set people as ‘Member’ by default yet administrator for that event.

What confuses me is that if i signed up for the event as a single user even though ultimately it was set to Admin in the event information i would still join as a normal member. It only seemed to set secondary attendees as Administrators.

I will take another look tomorrow though, as unfortunately im about to leave my office.

Thanks Tony, learning something new every day it seems

Regards

Phil

Phil,

What confuses me is that if i signed up for the event as a single user even though ultimately it was set to Admin in the event information i would still join as a normal member. It only seemed to set secondary attendees as Administrators.

The behavior you’re seeing is the result of some custom code. As Tony mentioned earlier, Event Espresso does not create user accounts for secondary attendees.

I can appreciate that Josh. The answers here have helped me figure it out so now i know who i need to contact about it.

Thanks guys.
