Seats Went Over Limit

For some of our events we had the following setup. Seat limit 12 and we had the join waiting list setup, duplicated class, set as waitlist, went to primary class chose assign waitlist and chose the waitlist class.

This is what I saw when we were getting registrations. The seat limit was 12 but the event received 14 or some all the way up to 16.

  1. If a 2 users adds to cart and fill the form and go to paypal at the same time will they both get the event.

This is a known issue, particularly with the Multi Event Registration add-on that won’t be resolved satisfactorily until the rewritten code in 3.2. Without Multi Event Registration, it’s still possible but it generally requires that two people be registering at the same time or that one person leaves the reg page open on their computer long enough for someone else to come in and take the last seat, then the first person comes back and finishes their registration. In both non-MER instances, it’s harder to overbook an event.

Ok thanks we will reduce the number of seats to adjust for this.

That’s what I generally recommend. And if you’re using a waiting list set up already, you can just contact people on the waiting list if you still have available spaces.
