A few weeks back I mentioned the problem in the link below. I’m not sure if it’s related, but I changed a couple TIMES – just the TIME – on a couple events last night, and I’ve got a whole bunch of events that have just disappeared.

eventespresso.com/topic/issue-with-updating-times-in-a-batch/

I’ll be happy to send a link, just don’t want to broadcast it for everyone to see.

I need to be able to make SMALL adjustments without stuff breaking. I’m incredibly frustrated with the performance we’ve had with this plugin so far.

Hi Rob,

I’m going to assume that these are recurring events because that’s what was discussed over in the other thread. If this is the case, did you read and follow Tony’s suggestions there?

Of course I did, hence the frustration. The only field I touched in effort to make a slight time adjustment on 6 tours was the start time field. I did not touch anything else. Somehow, numerous events just vanished from one of our tours – several weeks of tours – randomly.

In addition, I need to go back and add a venue to ALL tours (and there are a lot). I’ll need to do this via bulk changes, but I cannot do anything on that until I know there isn’t going to be an issue.

Hi Rob,

When editing the Times, did you match the REM date settings with the current event you were editing? As mentioned previously this will need to be done within each event you make changes within when using the ‘This and all upcoming events’ option.

In addition, I need to go back and add a venue to ALL tours (and there are a lot). I’ll need to do this via bulk changes, but I cannot do anything on that until I know there isn’t going to be an issue.

Do you have differences within your events part way through the series? For example have you altered pricing/times/descriptions etc for some of the events within the series and not others? I ask as in the previous thread you were using the option ‘This and all upcoming events’ which would suggest the above.

REM was designed to help aid the creation of multiples of the same event at once using the formula provided within the REM settings, unfortunately updating different events, a part of the event series but not others or some of the event options and not others was not how it was designed to be used.

So say you have a series of events 1-10.
You have edited events 5-10 to have a different pricing structure.
You then need to add a venue to all of those events…

If you edit event 1, add the new Venue then apply that too all the events, you will loose the new pricing structure within events 5-10 as they will now be copies of Event 1, only with different dates.

So this will all depend on how your events are set up, any changes made part way through the series etc. I’d be happy to take a look at your events if you can provide temporary login details? Is so please send via:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Although I will also need details on any changes made to the event series to help assist with this.

Hi Tony – I followd the instructions previously supplied exactly. The ONLY thing that I’ve done recently is make an adjustment to the date starting time field ONLY. I also selected “this event only” in the recurring dialog box. I wanted to make sure that I only adjusted the few events that needed times changed manually, one by one so there wouldn’t be any problems given the past problems we’ve had with managing events.

The most recent edits I made were NOT made using “this and all future events.” I was pointing out that I will need to make additional edits to add a venue to these events, but i’m not touching them again until there is a clear path through this mess.

i’ll provide more precise detail when I submit login details.

Hi Rob,

I replied via email a few days ago, as we’ve not heard anything back I just wanted to check that you had received my email?
