Hi, I have a client who is looking for a plugin to sell tickets online and this one seems to be the best I’ve come across so far.

My client has a few requirements.

In his eyes he sees the checkout like this:

Option 1:
Select Date.
Spanning over 8 days.

Option 2:
Select Time – 8 times a day.
In this select time there will be types of categories – Family & Adult – times are as follows:
Family – 14:00, 15:00 & 16:00
Adult – 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 & 22:00

Option 3:
Select Quantity.
In this option he has – amount of tickets and ticket type (VIP or Group Ticket)

Can this plugin do the above?

Thanks,
Al.

Hi Allan,

Thank you for considering Event Espresso.

The registration flow you are describing is different from how Event Espresso works. It is possible to handle those events, but it would not work as currently expected.

If you need to track the attendee limits across each of those timeslots each day would need to be a separate Event within Event Espresso.

Event Espresso 3 has a timeslot feature although it does not currently limit registrations per timeslot. So if your event can handle 40 registrations, all of
those registrations could actually be on any one of those time slots. Each day of the event would be a separate event that the user could register on so would actually be 8 events. The user would find the Event for the date they choose, then within that Event select a timeslot and the ticket type/qty they wish to purchase.

EE4 (Beta) can handle the registrations for each timeslot although will display multiple ticket options currently, which may be confusing.

Using EE4 you would also have 8 events (one for each date), within each of those events you would have 8 ‘timeslots’ (within EE4 these are actually called datetimes)

Then you would need 2 tickets for each timeslot (Group and VIP)

Currently what this means is the user will see multiple ticket options and they will need to select the correct ticket for the correct time. I ran through this and created an example event to show how the ticket options would look – http://take.ms/2LMTj

That is all the available tickets/times for that day, of which the user selects the correct time and registers onto the event using those tickets.

Each of those tickets only apply to a specific timeslot and will therefor keep your registrations tracked accros those time slots. For example the Family VIP – 2.00pm ticket only applies to that datetime – http://take.ms/AzD6U

You could test out creating this Event with EE4 on our demo site – demoee.org if you apply there you’ll be able to log-in and view the EE4 admin for yourself.

Apologies if this is a little in-depth, I wanted to provide as much information as possible so you could make an informed decision. Please just let us know if you have any further questions.
