Hi, a number of our users of reported seeing the following error after submitting the registration form. Note that multiple testing has not been able to re-create the error so additional details on the circumstances are not available. Can you help with providing any information on my point us in the right direction?

An error has occurred. The requested route 26 could not be mapped to any registered modules.

Thanks !

Hi there,

You can reproduce this if you go to your /special-events/ page and click the ‘Sign up here’ link.

The reason it is happening is that link is for an EE3 event and I’m assuming is hard coded into the page. Your site is running EE4 so that link will not work, you’ll need to update it to point to event within EE4.

Note you will also need to update ANY hardcoded links on the site that are set to an EE3 event, you can identify these with the ?ee=X paramter on the event of the links.

Thanks Tony, I have fixed that one. It appears some folks are getting this error after submitting the form. Can you think of any case where this would happen?

Getting that exact error message? That will happen whenever you pass ?ee=xx to the query string. I can’t think of any reason that would happen on the event itself when you submit the form, possible caching, are you running any caching plugins? Or server side caching?

It will happen anywhere you have the url set to go to ?ee=XX

Thanks again. No caching, we have Wordfence so will try relaxing some of the parameters to see if this could be due to rate limitation. Thanks for taking a look and catching that link.

You’re most welcome.

I did take a look over the site and ran a couple of registrations to see if I got any errors but I did not.

If you do get any reports of a reproducible way to throw the error on the site please do let us know so we can investigate a little more.

Thanks again.

A quick unrelated question. Users only seem to get emails once they have processed a payment (status turns to Approved) and they receive both the registration details and payment confirmation. How can we have the registration detail email sent regardless so they have a link to come back and make the payment?

The emails are triggered once the registration has finalized, which means the user registered and either selected an offline payment then clicked finalize registration (by default the registration would be pending payment and trigger the pending payment emails) or used an online payment method and paid for the registration.

So are emails not being triggered if the user selects an offline payment method?

The concern is a user navigating away or closing before selecting an online or offline payment.

Currently you can not trigger the emails at an earlier point other than when the registration is finalized.
