Hi there, we are experiencing something strange with emails. When someone clicks “Resend registration notification” in their account (envelope icon), it is getting sent no problem, BUT, it is getting sent like 50 times! Why is this happening and how can we fix it? We are using Postman SMTP and our own email server for the sending. Everything works perfectly for sending, but in this case, it just goes nuts and sends a ton of the same email. Any help is appreciated, thank you! |
Hi there, If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message Activity Do you see all of those emails shown in the list? You’ll already see a lot of emails there, but do you see that same email you mentioned above repeated ~50 times? |

HI there, yes we do. They’re all in the list. |
That normally means there’s some form of caching on the server. Are you using any caching plugins? Can you link me to an even I can run a test registration on, please? |

We are on WP Engine and have had them remove the caching from all the suggested pages for Event Espresso already. And yes, you can use this one here: https://www.siwakorea.com/events/tour-test-duplicate/, but you’ll need to make an account to be able to see the ‘My Events’ section I think. |
May I ask is the page that has the “My Events” section also set to not be served from the cache? |
|
|
It actually wasn’t, so I just had them do it, and I also added a page exclusion from cache on Cloudflare as well. But the issue still happens. The page just ends up timing out after I click the button, and all the emails get sent again. Anything else to try? |
Does this happen with all other plugins deactivated? (Besides Event Espresso 4 and the WP Users Integration add-on, those should be left activated for the test). Also, can you follow these steps? Does the email send once or multiple times when you click on that link? Also, in Event Espresso > Messages > Settings is the option set to send messages on the same request or on a separate request? |
