Restrict Users From Specific Event Category

I am using EE as a volunteer sign up platform. I am looking to restrict certain users from a specific event categories.

For example if a user doesn’t have CPR training they wouldn’t be able to view/sign up for any event listed under the “Lifeguard” category.

How could I go about this?

You would need to use another plugin like Advanced Custom Fields to add a field to the user, then on the registration page template (templates/registration_page.php and templates/registration_page_display.php) use the Advanced Custom Fields function get_field() in a conditional logic statement to control whether or not to display the registration form based on the value of the field.
