I’ve had 10 reservations for one event lasting for well over a few weeks. |

Hi there, Reserved tickets not clearing is normally a sign there is an issue with WP_CRON on the site, however, you manually clicking the DateTime reset button should clear those regardless of WP_CRON.. Can you add a screenshot of the event’s Dateimtes & Tickets section so I can view the set up? |

Hi Tony, Sadly now that the event date has ended the reserved amount seems to be 0 now as you can see – https://i.snipboard.io/2yhAxp.jpg But since the reserved section was full for so long the sold quantity didn’t reach the full amount of “74” as it showed as sold out for so long. We basically had to manually assign people who wanted to sign up and contacted us about it. I guess I’ll have to wait and see for the next event to show the situation again. |

Hmm, are you using waitlist registrations on that event? That’s the only add-on that alters any of those calculations, if you had waitlist registrations early on that may have prevented the reservation system from switching the event back from being sold out. |
|
Yes, we had some users on the waitlist. that is most likely the issue. So waitlist registrants hold reserved spots when more tickets are added later? |

Not specifically ‘reserved’ spots, but it does hook in and change how those work. The reason for that is based around the auto-promotion of Waitlist registrations, do you use auto promotion or are you manually managing waitlist registrations? I’ll give an example of why it matters which should explain a little. User A registers onto the last ticket for an event and makes it to the payment options, then vanishes (closed the browser, chose not to pay, abducted by aliens, etc etc). The ticket is under reserve for the duration of the session above (by default 1 hour) as EE has no way to know what the user is actually doing at that point, so it basically waits for a ‘timeout’, which is the session duration. In the meantime, User B hits the event page and sees the event is now sold out and the waitlist option is showing. They sign up to the waitlist to show interest in the event if a spot becomes available. (Skip X minutes later to when User A’s session has just expired) User C wants to purchase a ticket for the same event…. Now you are in the position where the last ticket was reserved but then didn’t sell, User B showed interest in that ticket duration the session duration and saved a waitlist registration and EE now wants to ‘clear’ the reservation to make it available for sale again… but should that ‘space’ be offered to the waitlist registration or User C/D/E/F on the ticket selector for purchase? IIRC (and I’ll check on this) the waitlist add-on hooks in to prevent EE from releasing the ticket on the ticket selector and auto promotes the waitlist registration to give them a chance to complete purchase. |

Ok thanks that explains a lot. I had the waitlist set to manual promotion. |

Yeah, so there you are basically telling Event Espresso that you will handle the above and all the following registrations after it. Try with auto-promotion and see if that works better for your events. |
