Required question answers in the registration form not showing on the back end

My registration is live but a required question is not showing on the back end. It shows on the front end. The question is only in one question group. The question on the registration form is their selection for the Thursday session. Here is the link: http://rest-ima.org/registration-checkout#checkout

Hi Robert,

It may help if I have a little more information, maybe you can clarify. Does the entire question and its answers not display in the back end, or is it the selection that’s not displaying?

Also, when you set up the questions, do they each have a unique Admin Label or do they share the same Admin Label name?

The question shows but not the responses from the registrants. It is a unique admin label name. It’s admin label is Thursday session choices while there are two others that say Friday session choices and Saturday session choices.

Could you share a screenshot of the question in the question editor?

Go to Event Espresso –> Registration Form. Then look for the question and click on it. Then please capture a screenshot and share it here.

One other question, was this created as a new custom question and assigned to a question group? I just want to ensure that an existing system question such as phone number or zip code was not renamed / repurposed to capture this information.

This was a new custom question and assigned to a new custom question group. I can give you login information if you need that

Hi Robert,

I just sent a test registration through (Dec23test) and then attempted to edit the records by using the edit attendee information link. I was able to see the existing information.

Could you go to the latest registration in the WP dashboard and view the registration details screen?

Is the information appearing there?

Also, I noticed that your payment methods images were attempting to load over https but there isn’t an SSL certificate on the site. Could you go to Event Espresso –> Payment Methods. Then click on each active payment method, scroll down and change the “https://” to “http://” in the URL and save changes?

On the event espresso registration details it shows that Saturday’s choice is missing not but shows the Thursday choice. When I download the CSV file it shows all session choices for the test. For previous registrations I still cannot see the Thursday session choices.

I will change the payment methods. Thank you.

We can investigate further, and we will not only need WordPress admin access as well as FTP access to look over error logs. If possible, please send WordPress admin level log in + FTP credentials via the contact form on this page:

Hello Megan,

I ran some testing and I believe this is due to an ampersand (&) symbol being in an answer choice. I’ve asked our developers for feedback.

It is currently a holiday so I’ll have more information for Monday.

Hi Megan,

They need more time to fix the underlying bug, which having a & in the answer option exposes. In the meantime, you can go in to edit the question and remove the answers that have a “&” in them, and replace each of them with new answer options that use the word “and” instead.

eg: “Track B – Management & Leadership” becomes “Track B – Management and Leadership”

I can’t get it to save though… What do I do about this?

They are still in your site’s database. The trouble is, the previous versions of Event Espresso could not read them. The very latest version of Event Espresso 4 can though, so I can advise to update to the current version and you’ll able to read those answers.
