My client’s current site is a WordPress.com site that I am developing for a WordPress.org site using Event Espresso. They accept payments with PayPal but only using a button linked to PayPal web address that redirects the purchaser to PayPal. They do not have a paid PayPal account so no API. The PayPal button on their current site is linked to an https: address that directs the purchaser to PayPal and automatically fills in the correct amount of the purchase when the purchaser logs in to PayPal. How do I remove the the payment options on the Event Espresso payment page and replace it with a simple button with the http: link to PayPal? Or, which file(s) has the code for the payment links on the payment page?
With Event Espresso you can’t just link to a specific external page for payment as EE will then have no idea a payment has been made to update the EE payment object, EE Transaction etc.
If sticking with PayPal we would recommend using the PayPal Express payment method. You don’t need a ‘paid PayPal account’ (I assume you mean enabling ‘Website payments pro’ on the account?) for API details.
