Is there a way to remove the social media buttons on emails coming from EE? I have looked at the “messages system” templates but do not see the fields that insert the facebook/twitter/g+ banners/buttons in the “Event Registration Details” emails that go out.

Because of the nature of our project, we are not using social media for it and it is confusing to have those banners/buttons attached to outgoing email.

Hi Anthony,

In both the Payment Recieved and Registration Approved templates for the Registrant, the social info is in the Main Content area.

I do not see it there, even looking at the code in text mode instead of the visual composer. This is in EE4 not EE3 — does EE4 with the new messaging system pull that stuff in from a different place? Thanks!

Hi Anthony,

Each message can have multiple contexts, for example the registration approved message sent to the Event admin will be different from the registration approved message sent to the Registrant.

So, if you go to Event Espresso -> Messages.

Then for example to remove the links from the Registration Approved message that is sent to the registrant, click n the ‘Registrant’ context – http://take.ms/RhRs2

Then remove any of the social link within that message context.

You’ll find Social networking links within the ‘Main Content’ (http://take.ms/vIZVA) and the ‘Event List’ (http://take.ms/OJmvp) fields.

If you are using Custom Templates for your events, edit those as opposed to the defaults. Context still apply in the same way, the difference being you will be within the ‘Custom Message Templates’ tab.

Does that help?

Yes! Thank you! I was completely forgetting about the context at the top. I just kept going through the main templates wondering where that code was coming from. As soon as I changed the recipient, there it was. Thank you again so much!
