How can I remove an event from the event list without deleting the event?

Hi there,

So you just want to hide the event from the event lists but still allow users to view it if they have the URL?

If so you can use something like this:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/24791195c24b868c88ad0ee217906b96

You’ll need to change line 12 and set the Event ID’s that you don’t want to display on the front end there.

It currently hides events with ID 58, 11, 1911. You’d just change those ID’s to your own then add the function to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

No. I want the event in the back end, but I do not want it on the registration page or visible to anyone outside of an admin. Apparently changing visibility doesn’t do that.

Setting the event visibility to Private should remove the event from view for everyone but editors and administrators.

Is that not happening on your site?

It is not.

Ok, can you link me to a private event, please?

(I will remove it from view once posted)

I can’t view that event (I get 404) and its not displayed on your /register/ page so it appears to be hidden?

Is there another section of the site that continues to show that event?

I swear that wasn’t working just a few min ago. Maybe it was a caching issue. Thanks for the quick help.

You’re most welcome.

Your register page is set to cache so that’s likely the cause, then when you log in as admin you’ll see the post anyway so it’s a little tricky to tell if it’s working.
