Hello,
I am helping a client / friend get his website up and going, but he needs to have all of the espresso branding (links, headers, etc) removed from the verification receipts. What are the changes needed to the plugin to acheive this.

You wouldn’t actually change anything in the plugin to achieve this. If you did, you’ll lose your changes every time an update is done, or you’d avoid that and never update, which would lead to you and your friend having a really bad time.
Instead, you can use the hooks provided to remove Event Espresso’s branding. There are a few examples in our code snippet library that show how:

Any of the code from the snippet library can be added to a functions plugin.
