It turns out that if the calendar shortcode is placed on the same page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode, the calendar will display on every page that gets generated by the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode.
What you can do instead is remove the calendar shortcode from that page, then hide the page from the site’s navigation menu (but do not delete the page). Use the menu manager or the Exclude pages from navigation plugin.
Then you can create a new page and put [EVENT_LIST] and the calendar shortcode on it. This will display a list of events and a calendar. All the links to register for events on that page will go to the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it.
We don’t typically do custom work, but what are you looking to do with the calendar?
