Reminder Email

I am using the reminder emails for the first time on an event that has multiple date/times. The first reminder went out today to everyone registered no matter what date/time they are registered for. Is this correct?

Hi there,

There are 2 different types of reminders.

Automated Upcoming Event Notification – these send once for the whole event regardless of how many datetimes you have/add. IT triggers for the first datetime and no more.

Automated Upcoming Datetime Notification – triggers per datetime within an event, only once per datetime but each individual Datetime within an event triggers it.

So I assume the notification sent above was Automated Upcoming Event Notification?

Ugh…yes. Is there way to send the datetime notification multiple times? I really need a week out and then 1-2 days out.

Not officially no, the AUEN add-on saves a value to the database whenever it triggers a message so that it knows not to resend that message again. It then uses those values within the query each time it runs to exclude those items.

So to trigger a message twice you would need to manually remove the value saved from the database so that the message will retrigger again. Theres no UI for doing this as its not how the AUEN add-on was intended to work.
