Hello,
This is probably unrelated to the issue at hand. But our Event Esspresso Plug says it needs to be updated. Our WordPress version is 6.6.2. Will the latest EE update be ok?

Hi there,

You’re site is currently running 4.10.29.p (released March 8th, 2022) and the latest version of Event Espresso is 5.0.29.p which is a big jump between versions.

5.0.29.p has no problems running on WordPress version 6.6.2 and should be fine, although again due to the large jump in version numbers I can’t be 100% sure. I would recommend using a staging site (a clone of your live site) to test the update and confirm. At the very least make sure you make a full site backup before moving forward here (just to be safe).

Regular Pages giving “Update Failed” error

This is likely unrelated to Event Espresso although its possible your server is set to display errors/warnings/notices and those are being thrown on an ajax request which then breaks the page updates, I’m guessing you’re using a page buider?

In short there isn’t really enough info here for me to say it will be fine, the big jump in versions since the last update complicates this as your jumping from V4.X.X to V5.X.X. In this case the v5 jump is to switch over to the advanced editor:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/new-advanced-event-editor/

But there’s a LOT of code change between those versions so I’d recommend testing it before running it on the live site.
