Registrations moved to waiting list even if waitiling list plugin is deactivated

On several occasions registrants are moved to waiting list even if the waiting list plugin is deactivated in WordPress and the event is not even full.
This did not happen before update to latest version of EE4.

Hi there,

Waitlist is a core registration status that the waitlist add-on make use of, its been within core for a long time now.

Do you know the steps to reproduce the registrations switching to waitlist?

I don’t have a clue when it is happening. So far it seems random.

Are your events close to the ‘limit’ set on the ticket/datetime at all?

There are some people registered, but I would not say close to limit.

I spent some time digging into this and so far I’ve been unable to reproduce.

Can you create a test event on your site that I can run some registrations on? You can set it to be password protected and post the password here to prevent ‘normal’ users from registering.
