Registration Status & Payments

I have two questions or issues.

1. I use Paypal as the payment method. Generally when I receive the payment notification that it has gone through from Paypal, Event Espresso shows the registration status as “Complete”. But yesterday 2 registrations were paid immediately and they are still showing as “Incomplete”. When I click on transaction details it shows they made the payment but on the main registration screens it shows their payment as $0 in red to highlight they haven’t paid yet. Why is it still showing as incomplete?

2. There are several registrations in the system that are actually pending payment. If they haven’t paid within a certain period of time are those registrations holding a spot in my limited ticket numbers? ON the event page it looks like the paid ones are called “sold” and have a number associated with them. And then the total number of registrations is also shown under “Regs”. I’m just wondering which of these two numbers will count against the total ticket sales so that it will be “Sold Out” when it matches the total?

Why is it still showing as incomplete?

May I ask are you using the PayPal Standard payment method or the PayPal Express payment method? If you use the PayPal Standard payment method what will happen is the Instant Payment Notification will not always reach your site. PayPal Standard was deprecated and we advise using PayPal Express instead. You can use your same PayPal account with PayPal Express, and we have a guide that shows how to get your account’s PayPal Express API information from your PayPal account:

The sold count is the number that counts against total ticket sales.
