Registration reads All ticket sales have ended but they have not (on phone only)

Hey there,

I created my first event, and everything looks great on a computer, but on smaller, mobile devices, a person is unable to register–it reads “We’re sorry, but all ticket sales have ended.” Again, people are able to register for my free event on a computer just fine. It’s only on phones where there is an issue.

Thanks for the help!

Eric

Can you give us a link to look at that event on our end?

Sure thing, Garth. Here’s the link: https://cnjrchamber.org/events/danis-burger-jamesburg-ribbon-cutting/

Hi there,

Are you logged in when testing on desktop but then not on mobile?

I’m getting the same issue above on Desktop and it looks like the page has been cached.

Which host are you using? GoDaddy Managed WordPress?

Yes, logged in on desktop. Never thought to login on mobile or clear my cache. Yes, GoDaddy Managed WordPress

Should I just start over? Now I see it’s not just a mobile issue. Not sure what’s going on, as the event settings look good in Event Espresso on my WP dash, but I could give it a shot.

No you don’t need to start over, this is most likely a caching issue (being logged in means you don’t get server from the cache, logged out does).

GoDaddy forces server-side caching on all of their Managed WordPress packages, does your dashboard have an option to disable the cache?

We’ve had so many conflicting responses from GoDaddy on how to disable/exclude caching that we stopped recommending them completely when using Event Espresso, some techs advise one thing, then others another, then randomly caching gets enabled on all pages again.

No option to disable the cache, but I can clear it, which I did. Still getting the tickets are not available. On other browsers and mobile.

Thank you for the help, especially for the heads-up on GoDaddy cache! I just went ahead and created a new event, and there were/are no issues. Much obliged!

Hmm strange! Whilst I’m glad that worked, its odd!

So I’ll post the details we used to post for GoDaddy here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/incompatible-with-godaddy-managed-wordpress-hosting/

However, being honest, my advice is to move away from that package if possible. The forced caching will eventually break your registrations unless they can add some exceptions to prevent EE pages from caching (which they’ve previously said they cannot but who knows with GoDaddy).
