Registration Notifications Being Sent to Wrong Emails

Hi. I’ve been receiving emails from clients who registered for past events that they are registered for a new event. It seems that when a new client registers, the confirmations are being sent to the wrong email addresses (clients from a previous event). Any idea why this is happening?

Hi there,

Looking over your event you have changed the ‘Personal information’ question group to ‘Parent Information’ and changed the system questions within it to be related to the parent, that’s fine but then you also have additional questions within the registration for for ‘Parent / Guardian First Name’, ‘Parent / Guardian Last Name’ and ‘Parent / Guardian Email’.

Are you using answers to custom questions in the emails to send the emails to or using the parent information system questions?

I want the Parent Information (formerly Personal Information) to go away. But it’s locked. I feel like that would fix it. Still doesn’t make sense why someone who isn’t registering for an event is getting a confirmation email.

I want the Parent Information (formerly Personal Information) to go away. But it’s locked.

You can not remove those fields, they are required at least once for registrations and are used for the ‘registrant’ details throughout Event Espresso.

They are locked because of the above, the 3 system questions included in that group are the minimum questions EE requires to function.

I feel like that would fix it.

Removing that section will likely no fix it, you need to use those 3 system questions so they are the 3 questions used in place of the duplicates in the other group.

Still doesn’t make sense why someone who isn’t registering for an event is getting a confirmation email.

It does if users are logging into the site and allowing autofill to fil those questions, or simply proving the correct answers and the expected value from EE are different from what you are expecting to happen.

Are the users logging into the site to register?

The values added for the 3 system questions on your registration form are what will be used for the ‘registrant’, they are the values that will be used by the messaging system for meals by default.
