Registration Notification Emails Not Being Sent

Hello!

We are using this plugin for a client. They let us know that they are no longer receiving emails whenever someone registers for an event.

For what it’s worth, we are using SparkPost to send emails, and not the default WP mailer.

Any advice on how to test/troubleshoot this?

Hi there,

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message Activity.

What colour status bar (the coloured bar next to each message) do the messages have there?

Everything is green.

If the messages show as green then EE triggered, generated and ‘sent’ them your mailer without any errors being thrown.

So rather than the emails are not being sent, it’s sounds like they aren’t being received after they been sent to the mail, which EE doesn’t have any control over.

Does SparkPost provide an API log at all?

If so, can you see the emails being sent to them through that?

I’ve tested SparkPost and have seen where emails are being sent and recieved outside of Event Espresso.

Which, I do have a general question – when a user registers for an event, the administrator should get a notification email correct?

Event Espresso can send admin notifications, and it’s usually set up that way by default. You’ll want to check your message templates and contexts to make sure they are configured to send and set to active.

Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates tab or Custom Message Templates tab.

Choose a message type, then choose a context (admin, primary registrant, or registrant/attendee).

Make sure there is a recipient shortcode in the TO field of the template.

Make sure the toggle switch is on for that context too.
