We have a link to an upcoming event at https://awisphl.org/events/sept2023/. It works fine from a computer, but on a cell phone (Android or IPhone/various browsers), “Register Now” takes you back to the same page, and there are odd numbers in the quantity, name, description, and amount fields. I have a screen shot I can send if you provide me the address to which it should go.

Can we do some testing.

You can use https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ or any similar plugin.

Then go to
Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting -> Enabled Troubleshooting mode.

That will disable all plugins and switch to a default theme and then allow you to enable specific plugins whilst in troubleshooting mode. Once disabled you will revert back to the current state.

May we also the theme you’re using? you can also test the theme if there’s possible conflict. you can also use that plugin to check this.

***in this case, we can just focus doing test on your theme. but let mw know what you find out.

Thanks

Thanks for the response. We are using Astra Theme as always, and have not noticed or been advised of this issue previously.
I installed health-check, I don’t understand how that will help me resolve the issue that is affecting cell-phone-based registration. It says: “Your site is currently in Troubleshooting Mode. This has no effect on your site visitors, they will continue to view your site as usual, but for you it will look as if you had just installed WordPress for the first time.”

No, this plugin wont resolve your issue. Through the basic testing we will be able to check if there’s a plugin or theme that cause this issue.

You can start doing some test on the theme, change the current theme then with plugin. The plugin i shared with you is a great tool where you enable troubleshooting mode, then after you’re done with the test, everything will be back to normal.

If we’re not able to point out the cause, we will be needing your login and FTP.

Thanks

Before I start testing all the plugins, and before I change the theme, let me tell you my latest experience. I created 3 test events. All work perfectly on my computer. On my phone, they work but I can’t hide details, and unexpected numbers show in the fields (date, time, etc. fields). However, if I select a ticket category/number of tickets, and click “Register Now,” thinks seem to be OK. If you want to test, here are the links:
awisphl.org/events/testnc PW testnc
awisphl.org/events/test5 PW test5
awisphl.org/events/test2 PW test2

Otherwise, I guess I will have to test all the plugins and the theme. Can’t so that until after next Tues’s event. Or can send you login and FTP.

Hi there,

Can you try disabling the ‘Magic Liquidizer Responsive Table’ plugin you have enabled on the site, please?

It looks like its targeting the ticket selector table and throwing the content of the table off all over the place.

Thank you, Tony, that worked! I still need to check the site as a whole to make sure all our tables are still working correctly, but at least the immediate registration issue is resolved.

Yeah that plugin is doing all kinds of ‘craziness’ with tables and as our ticket selector is more of a ‘functional’ table, those changes matter here 🙂
