Registration not working

I went to register today as I have for the last 4 years or so, and something isn’t right. Normally when I register (and not pay) they are added into the backend as incomplete – which is what I wanted – however nothing showed up. So I put paypal in dev/sandbox mode and went through the motions and got an error at paypal that I couldn’t register and my registration was cancelled. This has never happened before.

I have reg setup the same way I have as always, not sure what’s changed. I updated the plugin to the newest version: Version 3.1.37.13.P, and WordPress is at 4.9.6 but it didn’t solve the issue.

Need help troubleshooting this!!

I also didn’t receive any email about my registration when it was made, that normally has a link to complete payment.

Seems like the whole system in general is not working.

Can you post a link to the page that has the registration form so we can investigate further?

I was just about to do that, and i noticed there were two events open, when there should have been one. Not sure how it was duplicated but the “active” one is hidden from the menu at first, so I was looking at the one no one was signing up for….

SORRY! Been working 12 hour days, I’m tired. Ignore this <3

Still not sure why the sandbox paypal didn’t work or the email didnt come through though.

Hi Karen,

When you switched to Sandbox mode in the Event Espresso > Payments > PayPal settings, did you also change the PayPal ID field? If it’s in sandbox mode the PayPal ID needs to point to a PayPal sandbox account.

With regards to the emails, if you go to Event Espresso > General Settings, under Email Settings, what’s set for “Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received?”

Yes I used my sandbox ID, and signed in with my sandbox buyers account.

No it’s not. Which is odd because they always used to send and I’ve never changed this setting, is this new? Cool, will change it now 🙂

It’s not a new setting, but it may have gotten changed somewhere along the way.

When you land on PayPal’s site what’s the exact error message you’re seeing?
