Hi,
I updated, and now when someone registers to and event he is sent to a blank registration page,
doesn’t get a confirmation email,
and I see his name twice in my registrants page with a “not completed” red dot saying he did not pay.
and I don’t want that payment option, and I don’t want it to say “free event” on the event page..
Thanks,
Noga.

This is happening on my site too, and haven’t been able to fix it. Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

Hi there,

In both cases, this may be caused by old templates in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory. Please see this post in the blog for more info:

Hi Josh – thanks for your reply.

I haven’t made any changes to templates, and the directory you reference is empty for me. I was experiencing this problem while using an older version (3.1.27), and have just upgraded to 3.1.29 and am experiencing the same problem.

Hoping you have another suggestion!

Thanks!
Sharon

Hi Noga,

I’ve just deactivated Jetpack, and it has solved the blank page problem for my site. It’s a workaround for now, but I use Jetpack for a few different things, so I don’t want to be without it for long.

Hope that helps you for now!

Thanks,
Sharon

Thank you Sharon,
did you diactivate the entire jetpack? because the jetpack form is what I use right now to cover for the missing Event Espresso registration.

Hi Noga and Sharon,

I’ve been looking into the issue with Event Espresso and JetPack and at this time all that I have been able to find is that the issue does not happen when running Jetpack version 2.0.2. It appears to be a change in Jetpack version 2.0.4 that may be causing the issue, and we’re continuing to investigate why this is happening.

In the meantime, you can download the version 2.0.2 from the WP plugin repository and Jetpack will continue to work alongside Event Espresso:

Thank you, but this is too complicated for me.
I will wait untill you fix the problem. untill then I can’t use Event Espresso so if it’s more than a month please make sure my subscription is cahnged accordinly.

by the way, what also happened was that when I used the Post Event in a New Post option, it completely scrambles my theme colors and fonts, you should look into that as well.
Noga.

Hi Noga,

The problem may be something that Jetpack resolved in their next update. The problem started after some updates were added to Jetpack in version 2.0.4, not Event Espresso. At this time, there isn’t much that Event Espresso can do about this other than revert back to a previous version of Jetpack.

With the theme colors and fonts getting scrambled, can you let me know if there is a customized version of the event_post.php template in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder? Do you have a link to this post that you can post here/

hi,
with the colores I dont have a customixed event_post.php. I don’t want to post the color changing post beacuse it scrambles the entire website, making the kines blue and the links as well.

I have a twentyeleven theme.

Noga.

Hi Noga,

Can you check for missing or extra closing divs in the event(s) in the event editor? You can switch to the text/html view and look for these in the Event Description box. Here is a screenshot that shows what it will look like if there is an extra closing div:

@Noga —

The simplest solution may be to just install the older version of Jetpack. To do this:

  1. Deactivate and delete Jetpack.
  2. Download the 2.0.2 version of Jetpack from this link: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/jetpack.2.0.2.zip — Save the zip file somewhere you can remember, like your desktop.
  3. Install Jetpack from the version you downloaded. To do this, go to Plugins → Add New and click the Upload link.
  4. Click the Choose File button and navigate to where you downloaded the Jetpack zip file.
  5. Then click Install Now.

This will install the 2.0.2 version of Jetpack. Please let us know if this does not resolve the issue. Also, be aware that many people using Jetpack have reported issues with Photon and Sharing activated with various other plugins. It may be possible to resolve the issue by deactivating a number of the Jetpack features you are not using.
