Registration is closed with registrations pending payment

Hello-

I need to close my registration, as we have sold out of tickets. However, I still have 12 registrants who are pending payment that are coming to the event. When they click on the email link to make their payments, they get a message stating that registration is now closed and they cannot proceed to the cc payment option. Is there a way to still collect their payment via the registration link, while keeping registration closed? I do not want additional people registering for the event as we’re waiting for their payments to come through. For now, I’ve left it open, but am nervous that another large group may register in the meantime.

Additionally, when I was testing this feature, it moved two of my pending registrants to “wait listed” status and does not allow me to move them back to pending payment status.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

One way to allow payments for the registrations is to open the registrations on the event again (set the sale end date on a ticket to a date in the future) and then set the ‘Display Ticket Selector’ option within the event to No. (You can see the option in this section – http://take.ms/vDYz6)

Registrations already made can continue to pay and finalize but no new registrations can be made.

Additionally, when I was testing this feature, it moved two of my pending registrants to “wait listed” status and does not allow me to move them back to pending payment status.

Did you change the qty of tickets available on the event at all?

Hi Alayne,

You can go in to edit the event, then set “Display Ticket Selector” to No and that will close registrations while allowing the existing Pending Payment registrations to be paid for.

Additionally, when I was testing this feature, it moved two of my pending registrants to “wait listed” status and does not allow me to move them back to pending payment status.

May I ask which feature exactly were you testing? What happens if you go into the Registration record, then set the status to Pending Payment, then click on update?

Thanks, Tony. Should I set the maximum number of tickets to “0” to prevent additional registrations? Will this still allow those pending to complete their payments?

Re: Waitlisted registrants, the qty of tickets available did not change.

You can leave that setting as is and just set ‘Display Ticket Selector’ to No.

As there is no ticket selector for the event the max number of tickets is irrelevant as you can’t add tickets for the event to begin with 🙂

Thanks, Tony! I made that change and all seems to be working fine. Regarding the wait listed folks, is there a way to get them back to the pending payment option so I can resend the “make a payment” link?

What happens if you go into the wait listed registration record, then set the status to Pending Payment, then click on update?

Hi Josh,

I thought of that and when I went to do so I only had the following options in the dropdown:
-Approved
-Cancelled
-Declined
-Not Approved
-Wait-list

Good news! I figure it out. I had to go back to the registration list–>filter by wait list–>check boxes next to registrants–>select bulk action “change registrant to pending payment.

All is well in event planning land.
