Some registrations approved and others pending payment

Good day,

I have the registration set to approve by default in the event. I have noticed that some of the registrations come trough as approved and some come trough as pending payment.

Could someone please assist me on this matter.

Hi there,

The registrations that are pending payment likely did not ‘Finalize’ the registration. The status will only be set to Approved when the user has selected tickets, input registration details, selected a payment method (if a paid ticket) and clicked to finalize the registration.

If you view one the transaction for one of those Pending Payment registrations:

Event Espresso -> Registrations -> {find registration} -> {click on the ‘TXN Date’ field}

You can view details on the users session to see if they finalized – http://take.ms/ijNMZ

Thanks so much for your speedy response Tony.
What would you say is the best cause of action if a registrants does not follow through with their registration resulting in a waiting for payment status. This status results in confirmation emails not being sent out. So the registrant does not get confirmation of their booking as well as myself. Would you say it is best for me to then change their registration status on the back-end for the relevant emails to be sent out or is there something the registrant has to do on their side.

That’s correct, if the registrant doesn’t finalize the registration EE will not send confirmation emails as the registration (as far as EE is concerned) has been abandoned.

You can change the registration from within the admin using the bulk actions by selecting the registrations in the list you want to change and clicking the bulk icons dropdown – http://take.ms/6v4zi

Set the status you want and you’ll also likely want to use the ‘and Notify’ option to trigger the emails at the same time. So you’d select ‘Approve and Notify Registrations’ then click apply.

Your user’s don’t need to do anything on the front end to complete that registration, it’s best if they actually finalize the registration when making it.
